It's the beginning of the 2008 PGA season and there's once again talk of Tiger Woods claiming the holiest of holies, the Grand Slam. The Grand Slam is when a player wins all four of the major Championships. The Masters, The British Open, The US Open and the PGA Championship.
Tiger technically did this in 2000-2001 when he won the 2000 US Open, British Open and US PGA in 2000, then the Masters in 2001. Jack Nicholas claimed that this is NOT a Grand Slam because it wasn't within one calendar year, but Tiger came back saying "When I'm sitting in my house looking at four Major's trophies on my mantle, I've won the Grand Slam."
The first chance for Tiger will be The Master which takes place April 4th to 8th, at the famed Augusta National. Tiger finished second to Zack Johnson. Then the US PGS Open June 11th to 15th, at Torey Pines where Tiger just won. Then the British Open from July 16th to 20th at Royal Birkdale and the season closing PGA Championship from August 6th to 10th at Oakhills Hills.
He is currently listed as a 12/1 FAVORITE to win all four Major Tournaments. I don't think that he can do it. Let's here your comments.
